The claim

The mayor's road business and eight years in office

“Jared was in road construction as his business and he has been on planning and council for 8 years.”

Seen: Eagle Mountain City Tax Referendum Facebook group, August 2026.

Our finding Accurate

The record supports it as stated.

Both halves hold up against the record. Neither is an allegation on its own, and nothing in the record attaches one to them.

The numbers

What’s true

Gray said from the dais on May 19, 2026, while discussing precast concrete suppliers, that he has “worked in this industry for a long time, and it goes along with excavating gravel pits.” He also argues road geometry with city engineers in more technical detail than anyone else on the dais. On tenure: councilmember 2020–2023 and 2024–2025, mayor since January 1, 2026: about seven years elected, and eight is fair with prior planning service.

Worth knowing

Nothing, as stated. What the claim implies but does not say is a conflict of interest, and the record does not carry one: no city road contract on file is awarded to a business connected to him, and on the item closest to the accusation elsewhere in this post, the rodeo grounds relocation, he did not vote in favor. He abstained.
