An independent record of Eagle Mountain city government, kept by a resident. Not run by the city. What is this?

The claim

A free repair of the eagle monument was ignored

“I offered to fix the eagle by 73 for free since it was ours and was never called back. The city could have saved money.”

Seen: Eagle Mountain City Tax Referendum Facebook group, August 2026.

Our finding Not settled

A real question the record cannot yet answer.

A private offer and an unreturned phone call leave no trace in an open-meeting record, so this site cannot settle it either way. What can be checked is what happened to the monument.

What’s true

The eagle monument was down, it mattered to people, and the city spent money putting it back. On May 19, 2026 one voice on the dais said of the monument, “I really didn't know that people cared that much”, and another finished the thought: “until it was gone.”

What isn't settled

Nothing is contradicted, and nothing is confirmed. Offers made by phone do not appear in agendas, minutes or recordings, which are the only things this page checks claims against. It would be settled by a written offer or by the city's correspondence: a records request, not a meeting recording.

More detail

What the record does carry: by April 28, 2026 city staff had rebuilt the retaining wall and the contractor had poured the footings and pad, with installation scheduled for around the end of May. It was named as one of the few capital projects expected to finish without rolling into the next year.

Where this comes from

Every finding here is drawn from an open-meeting recording or a published document. Check it yourself.

“The third is the Eagle Monument, which is well on its way. Eagle Mountain staff has already been out there and rebuilt the retaining wall. The contractor has been out there, has poured the footings and the pad. Right now, the schedule date is to have this installed around the end of May.”
